Troubleshooting

CatchON TV not working: what to check first

First identify what fails: signing in, every channel, one channel, or a second device. Test one screen, confirm your account is active, and compare another app on the same network before changing your setup.

Start with the symptom

These checks help narrow the cause; they do not prove there is or is not a service outage. This page is a troubleshooting guide, not a live status monitor. Ask support about a current incident when multiple channels or devices fail.

Change one thing at a time

Close playback on other screens and retry on one device. Check whether another ordinary streaming app loads on that same device. If other apps also fail, look at the device connection or router before changing the CatchON TV account.

If possible, compare a wired connection with the current Wi-Fi connection. Pause large downloads during the test. Record whether the issue happens only at particular times or only on one device. A fast speed-test result alone cannot guarantee uninterrupted playback.

Restart the player once. If the device itself is unresponsive, restart the device. Avoid deleting app data or reinstalling until you have safely saved the account details and understand that settings or favorites may be lost.

Check account and device limits

An expired subscription, incorrect login format and too many active streams can look like a playback failure. Check the latest activation or renewal message and the connection count on your order.

A device can hold a stream open even when nobody is watching it. Close the app on unused screens and try again. If your player needs an independent license, confirm its status separately from the streaming subscription.

Send a support request that can be diagnosed

Do not send your full card number or share a password in a public post. If a screenshot contains a playlist URL, crop it out. Keep the setup intact while waiting for instructions so support can work from the same state you described.

  • Your order reference and whether the issue began after renewal.
  • Device model, player name and version if available.
  • The exact error message, with credentials hidden.
  • The affected channel or content title and the time, including your US timezone.
  • Whether another channel, device or connection worked during the test.

Your next step

Return to the guidebook, compare CatchON TV plans, or ask about your order.
