Check the App Store on the target device, rather than assuming an iPhone app is also available on Apple TV. Review the player’s supported login formats and any separate subscription or license cost.

Add the account in the correct format
After activation, enter the server address, username and password only if the player requests that format. If it requests a playlist URL, use the complete URL supplied for your account. Do not substitute the storefront address for the server address.
Wait for the player to load the account and test a single channel. Program-guide support, favorites and on-demand organization depend on the player; they may not look the same as on an Android device.
Understand separate screens and app features
An Apple TV playing while an iPhone streams separately uses two simultaneous connections. Two people watching the same television together use one. Closing a stream on one device before switching can help you stay within your allowance.
Casting, AirPlay and cross-device history depend on the player and device. Do not assume automatic viewing hand-off or identical favorites across apps. Confirm the specific feature if it matters to your decision.
