CatchON TV on Samsung and LG Smart TVs

Your television’s model year, operating system and app-store region determine the available player options. Check those details before choosing a plan.

A smart TV is not always an Android TV

Samsung televisions commonly use Tizen and LG televisions commonly use webOS. An Android APK is not an installer for those systems. Use the television’s own app store to check available players, then ask whether your intended player works with the account format supplied.

Record the model number from the television settings or label. A player working on another television from the same brand does not establish that it works on yours. If there is no suitable native app, ask about using a compatible external streaming device.

Separate the player from the subscription

Some TV players require their own license or use a device identifier when setting up a playlist. Those requirements belong to the player and may be separate from the CatchON TV subscription.

Confirm the player’s setup process before sending any account details. Use its documented interface and the account information supplied after activation. Ask support if the screen asks for a format you were not given.

Check the viewing experience

After loading the account, test live playback, the guide and any on-demand sections you intend to use. Remote-control navigation and content organization vary between players. If the guide time is wrong, compare the TV and app timezone settings.

When playback fails, note whether it affects one feed or the whole account. Include the TV model and player name in the support request. Save setup details before resetting or removing the app.
